Upon graduation from Augustana, you are immediately considered to be a member of the Alumni Association. The purpose of the Augustana University Alumni Association is to foster a lifelong connection between alumni and Augustana through ongoing engagement and communication. The Alumni Council serves as leadership for the Alumni Association, being the model for our more than 30,000 alumni from every state and over 65 countries to emulate.
Membership on the Council is an honor, and prospective members must complete an application and interview process to be considered for membership. Once inducted to the Council a member shall serve a four-year term, with a maximum of two consecutive terms.
Service on the Council is an opportunity to serve, elevate, and share Augustana’s vision with alumni, friends, organizations, and potential students. A public, outward positive view of Augustana is vital. Council members promote Augustana in their sphere of influence by talking openly and positively about Augustana to other alumni, prospective students, and community members. Members provide leadership for alumni programs on campus and in their respective communities, engage with current students through service activities, encourage alumni participation at events, and support the university financially.

The Alumni Council invites Augustana alumni to apply and applications are accepted year-round. The Alumni Council votes on new applications throughout the year. Upon a majority-vote approval of the Council, the prospective member's term will begin at the next in-person meeting (either Fall or Spring).
