Viking Days 2012 Schedule of Events
Join us for all of your favorite Viking Days events again this year. Tickets for the Thought Leader Forum, Viking Varieties, the football game (Augustana vs. Minnesota State), and the Blue and Gold Gala are on sale at www.augietickets.com.
Classes ending in 2 and 7 are celebrating reunions.
Augustana Honor Guard members (classes 1961 and earlier) will also celebrate a reunion.

All Day | CWS Gallery Exhibit — open daily through Nov. 30, Center for Western Studies
25th Annual Northern Plains Indian Art Market Anniversary Exhibit, featuring the art of NPIAM artists since 1988: Roger Broer, Jackie Sevier, Paul Szabo, Richard Red Owl, and Harvey Rattey.
All Day | Augustana Career Symposium — various locations across campus
Hosted by the Career Center, the Symposium provides alumni an
opportunity to share their experiences with current students through

12:00 noon | Hoops Golf Tournament — Bakker Crossing Golf Course
Augustana alumni men's basketball players and friends are invited to play in the first annual hoops golf tournament. Registration, driving range, and lunch is available from 10:30 a.m. until the shotgun start at noon.

This reception is for all alumni who have been inducted into the Augustana Honor Guard. Join us for cake and coffee as we celebrate the Class of 1962 and welcome them to the Honor Guard.
5:00 p.m. | Gallery Reception "The Art of Politics" with Ann Telnaes and Dr. Joel Johnson — Eide/Dalrymple Gallery
"The Art of Politics," political cartoons by artists of the North Central Chapter of the National Cartoonists Society, featuring Pulitzer Prize winner Ann Telnaes. Closing reception featuring a presentation by Telnaes and Associate Professor of Government Dr. Joel Johnson set for 7 p.m. in Kresge Recital Hall.
6:00 p.m. | Athletic Hall of Fame Banquet & Social Hour, 7:00 p.m. Dinner — Starlite Room, Holiday Inn City Centre

All alumni who have celebrated their 50th reunion are invited to the Honor Guard banquet. Reservations are required ($15/person) and available by registering online or by returning the registration form sent by mail.
7:00/9:15 p.m. |Viking Varieties — Edith Mortenson Center Theatre
This evening features two performances. The show kicks off early with a special pre-show performance by The Augustana Brass Choir.
Class reunion events are taking place for classes ending in 2 and 7. Online registration is now open.
Saturday, October 6th
8:00 a.m. |Viking Days Race: Langskip 5K — starting at the Fellows Presidential Residence at 37th and Grange. Pre-register at www.langskip5k.com.
9:30 a.m. | Viking Days Parade Tent Receptions — around campus
These tents are a great place to grab a hot cup of coffee and catch up with classmates and faculty before, during and after the parade. Look for the Rec Services tent (on Grange Avenue by the tennis courts) for alumni who were staff in the Elmen Center, and the 50th class reunion tent (on Summit Avenue by the library).
The homecoming parade will begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 6. To accommodate the parade, no parking will be allowed on the parade route effective 6 a.m. until the end of the parade.

Bring your lawn chairs and blankets, find a spot on the curb, and enjoy the parade.
11:30 a.m. | Pre-Game Gathering — outside Kirkeby-Over Stadium
The festivities continue outside the stadium in an area known as “Vikingland,” with game-day food, prizes and activities for the whole family. Tables for reunion classes are reserved for gathering before the game. This is an event you don’t want to miss!
11:30 a.m. | 50th Class Reunion Tailgate — Fellows Presidential Residence
Augustana Vikings from the Class of 1962 are invited to the President's house for a tailgate lunch before the football game.
11:30 a.m. | Augustana Band Alumni Picnic — Paxton Room, Morrison Commons.
Band alumni are encouraged to have lunch in the Commons and join Dr. Bruce Ammann in the Paxton Room.
1:00 p.m. | Viking Days Football Game — Kirkeby-Over Stadium

The Blue and Gold Gala has been moved to the Center for Western Studies.
Celebrate Augustana with us at the Blue and Gold Gala. Featuring our Alumni Achievement Award recipients and special musical entertainment. Join us for a social hour followed by an elegant dinner and a message from President Oliver. Our event will conclude in time for guests to attend the 9:15 p.m. Viking Varieties show if they desire.
