Augustana (SD) Class of 1977

Class of 1977

Winter 2015 Class Agent Letter

Dear Augie Class of 1977,

Have you been on campus lately? It’s changed a lot since 1977, with many needed improvements since we graduated.

Because Brian and I have two children who are Augie graduates who were involved in music, we were fortunate to spend a good deal of time on campus the past 13 years. We have also taken part in the Augustana Association gatherings on numerous occasions. It’s great hearing and seeing the wonderful things taking place on campus, and know that students do really well with the fine education they receive at Augustana College.

We were able to celebrate with other Augie folks at the Rattle and Hum event in December — the extra special evening to celebrate the Momentum Augustana Campaign. A big part of this is the new Sven Froiland Science Complex that includes a remodel of the current Gilbert Science Center. How exciting it is to see and hear the fantastic things that are taking place, and how awesome it will be for many, many students for decades. Especially encouraging is to hear about the fantastic support from so many people — community, alums, and friends. We are very proud of Augustana College, and I believe you should be, too.

I encourage you to take time to visit the college and see the changes firsthand. We, the class of 1977, were blessed to have been there and learned all that we did. It is relay good to know that Augustana College continues to be a blessing to so many.

It’s always great to hear from you! If you have any news to share, please contact me directly or send your updates to Augustana at www.augielink.com/classnotes. Even a reminder of what keeps you busy in your work, or a note about your family or a recent vacation is fun to hear about. Keep in touch!
