Class of 1977

2016 Class Agent Letter

Greetings!

Here we are, well into the beginning of a new year at Augustana! As we look back on 2015, we have much to celebrate. Among the most exciting news of the year was our name change to Augustana University on September 1. You can read about all of our 2015 highlights on our website at: www.augie.edu/highlights.

More than 130 students studied abroad this past January with adventures in several countries. Now that the spring semester is underway, there are students taking classes in the new wing of the Froiland Science Complex with the remaining renovations being completed over the spring and summer. We look forward to celebrating the opening of the entire building with the beginning of the academic year this fall.

We hope you will make plans to join us in the fall for our Viking Days festivities. Homecoming dates are Oct. 14-16 when we will celebrate reunions with the classes ending in 6 and 1. The schedule is coming together with our annual Honor Guard luncheon taking place on Friday over the noon hour at the downtown Holiday Inn and the addition of a concert featuring several of the music ensembles in the Washington Pavilion on Friday evening. Watch for more information as the details come together. You can find the latest updates at www.augie.edu/vikingdays.

Your alma mater continues to do well in national rankings. We earned high marks in US News, Princeton Review, Washington Monthly, and Forbes rankings earlier this year. You can read more about Augustana’s high marks at www.augie.edu/rankings. If you know of a high school junior or senior who is looking for an outstanding college experience, visit www.augie.edu/refer to share information about your prospective Augustana Viking.

Augustana University appreciates all the ways that our alumni give back. Our most recent Gratitude Report is now available at www.augie.edu/gratitude-report. Your gifts make a difference in the lives of our students. If you haven’t made your gift yet in 2016, please consider doing so today at www.augielink.com/gift.

All of us at Augustana wish you the very best in 2016!

Yours, for Augustana,

Mary Toso ’90
