In Celebration of Christmas

Christmas TreeIn an effort to help those in need this holiday season, Augustana students are collecting gifts for area teens and families.
  • For the second year, Augustana students involved in Serving and Learning Together (SALT) are overseeing Teen Town, a Salvation Army program that provides gifts to teens between 13-18 years of age from low-income families. Teen Town allows parents to choose a gift for their teenager once they have chosen gifts for their smaller children through the Salvation Army. Students are hoping to collect at least 550 gifts in the $20-$25 range by Sunday, Dec. 15. Gifts should be brought to the Student Services suite inside Morrison Commons. Monetary gifts for Teen Town can also be submitted online.

  • Gifts for children of all ages and adults can be deposited at any of the campus Christmas Giving trees, located inside the academic buildings and inside the Chapel of Reconciliation. These gifts will be distributed to area nonprofits, including Lutheran Social Services, Heartland House, Children's Inn, and others.

  • Those interested can also adopt an individual or family for the holiday season. These families, served by Lutheran Social Services, have recently arrived in the United States and have chosen to call Sioux Falls home. Learn more.
